Roots was born from a straightforward concept and a drive to bring it to life. In 1973, Michael Budman and Don Green founded Roots, drawing inspiration from their love for Ontario’s Algonquin Park and all it symbolized for them. Beginning in Toronto with footwear, Roots expanded to include high-quality leather bags, jackets, accessories, their iconic salt & pepper sweats, clothing made from natural fibers, and home decor. The leather goods have consistently been crafted in Canada at our own Toronto facility.
